Matthew is one of our Great Lakes building consultants and has been involved in the building industry for over 20 years. Over the last 18 months, Matthew has managed his own inspection company focusing on the insurance aspect of building works.

At the age of 15 Matthew began his trade as a carpenter and joiner and during this time was lucky enough to gain experience in large residential developments, shop fitting and even worked on a luxury replica steamboat (undertaking ship wrighting works and detailed fitout works.)

Following the completion of his apprenticeship, Matthew worked in numerous areas until settling in the local government sector, working for Newcastle City Council for over 15 years. Prior to joining Jim’s, Matthew worked as a sub-contractor for a Jim’s Building Inspections franchisee before deciding to buy a JBI franchise of his own.

When he’s not conducting inspections Matthew enjoys the outdoors, taking his 4 dogs for regular walks, visiting the beach and going fishing.

FUN FACT: Matthew is an avid lawn bowler and competes at high level. Over the years he has won multiple club and district championships.
